HEAD OF INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION PROJECTS

Iñigo Unamuno is a professional with almost 20 years of experience in the world of steel.

With a PhD in Chemistry by the University of the Basque Country, his professional career has mainly developed as a researcher at the Sidenor R&D centre, an iron and steel reference in the research and development of cutting-edge steel methodologies and products, for both Sidenor and its customers.

Iñigo currently fulfils the role of Industrial Innovation Projects Manager, leading several European projects related to innovation and the improvement of industrial products and processes, thanks to his previous experience and his deep knowledge of the steel sector, more specifically of special steel.

In the specific product eco-design project, Iñigo has been a member of the working team which along with the Environment department has achieved successful results in new, more sustainable steels and with a smaller environmental footprint, calculated with the environmental footprint calculation system that Sidenor Aceros Especiales is a pioneer of in Spain.
