
Oskar Azkarate is an Agricultural Engineer by the Public University of Navarre. He currently holds the position of director-general of Baskegur, an organisation that covers the entire value chain of the forestry and timber sector in the Basque Country, from the forest owners to the different timber industries. With more than 20 years of experience in the sector, he acted as the Sales Manager of the Holtza Group, a leading company in the construction of large timber spans and at other companies such as Lana S. Coop. In addition, he has carried out coordination and direction tasks in the development of strategic projects in the forest-timber sector for different entities and clusters such as Hazi Fundazioa, Habic or the Provincial Government of Alava.
He is or has been a member of certification and organisation committees at entities such as PEFC España, AITIM, Construir con madera, Egurtek and Basotek.
